Accessories: Concert Wristbands

The most common use for concert wristbands is to identify people who are of a legal drinking age. Most venues use a security booth to give out the drinking concert wristbands. Concertgoers must show a valid ID in order to receive a wristband that will allow them to purchase alcohol.

The same wristband usually lets you enter the beer garden, or designated area for drinking. This will vary depending on where the concert is being held. The wristbands are made so that they cannot be taken on and off. This is so that an older person cannot take it off and give it to someone who is not of the proper age.

VIP Concert Wristbands
Most concerts will have a VIP area that is restricted from the general public. Concert wristbands can be issued to people who are allowed into the VIP area. This way security can easily distinguish who can and cannot enter the area.

Some places use VIP badges instead of wristbands. The problem with this is that they can be exchanged between people. This means that the security is not as tight with these modes of identification. Concert wristbands are much safer because they cannot be switched.
